AI Assisted Sprint Planning
Is Here — And It's Free
FREE
The first Scrum Pro Live Session is open to everyone. No cost. No catch.
Just real, hands-on learning for Scrum teams ready to work smarter.
What Is a Scrum Pro Session?
Scrum Pro Sessions are live, practitioner-focused learning events built for people who already know the basics and want to go deeper. These are not intro lectures. They cover the real-world details that textbooks skip over.
This first session focuses on something that's on every Scrum team's mind right now: how to use AI during Sprint Planning. Sprint Planning is one of the five Scrum events. The team uses it to decide what to build in the next Sprint and how to get it done. AI tools are starting to change how teams prepare for and run that conversation.
Why Sprint Planning? Why Now?
Sprint Planning has always taken work. The team needs to understand the Product Backlog, estimate effort, and agree on a Sprint Goal. That means looking at a lot of information in a short window of time.
AI tools do not replace that thinking. But they can help your team prepare faster. They can summarize backlog items, suggest groupings, flag dependencies, and help you draft a clear Sprint Goal. The key word is assist — the team still owns every decision.
⚠ Important to know
AI tools work best when your backlog is already well-organized. They also cannot replace a team's knowledge of the product, the codebase, or the customer. Use AI as a thinking partner, not a decision-maker.
That balance — using AI without handing over control — is exactly what this session is built to teach.
What You Can Expect to Learn
This session is hands-on and practical. Here's what it covers:
-
How AI fits into Sprint Planning — where it helps, where it gets in the way, and how to tell the difference
-
Real tools you can use today — prompting strategies and AI tools that work with your current workflow
-
Backlog refinement with AI — how better-prepared backlog items lead to faster, cleaner Sprint Planning meetings
-
Drafting Sprint Goals with AI support — using AI to generate goal options that the team then shapes into something meaningful
-
Honest limitations — what AI cannot do, where it can mislead you, and how to keep the human team in charge
Grounded in the Scrum Guide
Everything in this session connects back to the 2020 Scrum Guide — the official definition of Scrum. AI tools are a layer on top of Scrum, not a replacement for it. You will leave this session knowing exactly where AI fits inside the framework.
